A creative approach to missionary care

This seminar will look at the needs of returning cross-cultural workers whether for home assignment or longer term. We will use group discussion, exercises, and case studies to pool together our knowledge in order to answer some of the questions that arise. This a broad subject and our aim is to raise awareness of needs, find some solutions and gain a new perspective on missionary care.

Sylvia Anderson

Sylvia developed an interest in the care of missionaries following her return from hospital work in South Asia. She then completed a diploma in counselling. She is involved in facilitating a group for those who have returned to Northern Ireland from overseas.

Joy Gowdy

Joy originally trained as teacher and worked with PCI/UMN in Nepal for over 10 years before retraining, and gaining her diploma in counselling in 2004.
