A practical Christian medical perspective on eating disorders. This seminar will seek to provide information regarding the nature, causes and treatment of eating disorders in line with current scientific theory and practice. The impact of eating disorders on family members will be addressed and strategies for how best to support a loved one suffering from the illness will be suggested. There will be some reflection on how the Christian faith can potentially be helpful in terms of approaching a believer struggling with an eating disorder. Audience participation through questions and discussion will be encouraged. Handouts will be provided which will include a list of potentially helpful references and resources.
