Imagining good Theology

Session date: Friday 7th August 2015 Session time: 11:45 am - 12;45 Session location: Registration Tent Session track ,

Discovering the power of imagination in making the Bible live. It is imagination that helps ensure that, for us, the book lives and is new every morning. Imagination opens us to successive readings and re-readings that open for us in new understanding even as we make our way through the world.  If all we are doing is dissecting a text, parsing its grammar and categorizing it, then we rob the text of life and vitality. Imagination is what makes it live. And the lifelong task for bible readers is to allow our imagination to be shaped by the story of the bible under the tutelage of the Holy Spirit.
